What is Computer Based Delivery?
Computer Based Delivery (CBD) is a general term that normally includes any kind of learning that takes place through the use of a computer. Though a broader definition of CBD includes Web Based Delivery (WBD), we seperate the two types of delivery by categorizing CBD as not using the Internet for the main exchange of content.
Some users prefer CBD for courses that include a large amount of data through video training or an image or software to be installed for instructional simulation. In addition to flexibility in terms of file size, CBD can be an excellent option for teaching when content is of a sensitive nature.

Why would you choose it?
You might choose Computer Based Delivery when there are security and proprietary concerns or standards. This way, all of your data and information can stay internal. If your training involves large amounts of data through simulation and video, the courses can be shipped on formatted disks and not tie up your internet resources. Even though physical shipping is involved, you can still send your trianing anywhere in the world.
